When you register your chess player for the first tournament of the school-year, please remember to verify your participant information. Grade-level and school information, as well as USCF expiration date, need to be updated in order to process any future registrations. Thank you for your help!

Special Congratulations to all Austin & San Antonio youth who participated in the 2014 Texas Grade Championships! The following are 2014 state champions in their respective sections: Kindergarten Champion - Harshid Kunka; 1st Grade Champion - Alexis Hwang; 2nd Grade Champion - Vinh The Pham; 4th Grade Champion - Anh Nhu Nguyen; 5th Grade Champion - Sreenevash Ramesh; 9th Grade Champion - Andrew Lu; 4th Grade Team Champions - Laurel Mountain Elementary; 6th Grade Team Champions - Canyon Vista Middle School; 9th Grade Team Champions - Westwood High School. The 5th Annual Austin Chess Club Championship is now open for registration. With $3350 in 100% guaranteed prizes, it's always a sell out. Register early!

Congratulations to Rocks & Rooks for winning the bid for the 2015 Region VI Scholastic Championships. The tournament will be held at Patsy Sommer Elementary on February 7, 2015.

Bids for the 2016 Region VI Scholastic Championships are due by June 1, 2015. Visit TCA's website for more information on the contents of a successful bid (see bottom of that page). Please contact Lori Balkum, Region VI Director for more information or to submit your bid.
