Description: A full day, week-long chess camp hosted by NYOS Charter School. Located on the north side of Austin, the camp is open to all scholastic chess players, and is run by Mr. Gary Gaiffe.
Campers will be broken into skill level groups. Different topics will be covered depending on which group the camper is in. From tactics to positional play, game analysis to variant play, the camp will be both instructional and entertaining. The final day will include a camp-wide tournament.

Description: This is a charity tournament in San Antonio for girls, with ALL proceeds being used to grow chess with chess programs at libraries and title one schools, and scholarships. There will be 5 rounds total. The tournament will be held on May 14th at 12pm and should finish around 3pm.

Everyone is welcome! All skill levels, especially beginners & newcomers! This is meant to be a casual, fun, and chill community for all participants.
Chess is for everyone, therefore there will NEVER be any dues or fees required, ever! Donations in the form of communal chess sets & clocks, are welcome and would be very much appreciated. Chess IRL currently has 10 chess sets and 5 clocks. If events exceed that size then we will ask for participants to bring some extra sets.

Youth players in North Austin and Cedar Park have an open play opportunity at the Cedar Park Library. The group focuses on improving skills through contact with better players. Children of all ages and abilities and their accompanying adults are welcome. Sets and boards are provided, but you may bring your own equipment. Please bring clocks and notation sheets if you wish to use them.
Masks are optional. Players are seated with added spacing and hand sanitizer provided and usage encouraged.
