Both sections have restricted entry:

Open Section:

Adults
All adults of any level are welcome to play in the open section! Current USCF membership required.

Youth rated 1300 and above
All scholastic players who wish to join the open section must have reached 1300 or higher on the January2025 USCF Supplement Ratings List. Please do not ask for rating exceptions, unless your current non-supplement rating at the time of the event is 1400+. Current USCF membership required.

K-12 Elite Section:

Youth rated 950 to 1399
This section, aimed at the most experienced players, is open to any scholastic player rated 950 to 1399 on the January 2025 Supplement. Please do not ask for rating exceptions, unless your current non-supplement rating at the time of the event is more than 100 points above the section minimum of 950. The section is intended for players rated 1000+ and above. USCF membership required.
