Austin Chess Tour: Open Qualifier #5: In-Person USCF Rated Tournament 

The Austin Grandmaster Chess Academy is hosting an Open USCF Rated Tournament on December 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.  USCF Membership required.   Capacity: 80 players!

4SS, time controls determined by section
SECTION A:  1800 + USCF rated

**Players rated 1700 to 1799 may play Section A or B**
**Players rated 1300 to 1399 may play Section B or C**
**Players rated 900 to 999 may play Section C or D**

RATING INFORMATION:
● December 2024 official USCF ratings will be used.
● Unofficial USCF ratings will be used if unrated or to play in a
higher section.
● Players must reveal foreign, FIDE, and other over-the-board
ratings. These ratings will be adjusted, if necessary, and may be
used if they are higher than USCF ratings.

Sections A & B (all rounds G/60, d5)
●  1st round: 10:00 AM

Austin Chess Tour: Junior Qualifier #2: In-Person USCF Rated Tournament 

The Austin Grandmaster Chess Academy is hosting a Junior (Scholastic) USCF Rated Tournament on September 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.  USCF Membership required.   Capacity: 70 players!

TOURNAMENT STYLE:
4SS, time controls determined by section
All players will be divided into 5 sections:
SECTION A:  1700 + USCF rated
SECTION B:  1400 – 1700 USCF rated
SECTION C:  1000 – 1400  USCF rated
SECTION D:  600 – 1000 USCF rated
SECTION D:  Under 600 USCF rated or unrated
**Players rated 1600 to 1699 may play Section A or B**
**Players rated 1300 to 1399 may play Section B or C**
**Players rated 900 to 999 may play Section C or D**
**Players rated 500 to 599 may play Section D or E**
*USCF MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED*

RATING INFORMATION:
● September 2024 official USCF ratings will be used.
● Unofficial USCF ratings will be used if unrated or to play in a
higher section.
● Players must reveal foreign, FIDE, and other over-the-board
ratings. These ratings will be adjusted, if necessary, and may be
used if they are higher than USCF ratings.

Section A (all rounds G/60, d5)
●  1st round: 10:00 AM
●  2nd round: 12:15 AM
●  Lunch break: 2:30 – 3:30 PM
●  3rd round: 3:30 PM
●  4th round: 5:45 PM

Sections B & C (all rounds G/45, d5)
●  1st round: 10:00 AM
●  2nd round: 11:45 AM
●  Lunch break: 1:30 – 2:30 PM
●  3rd round: 2:30 PM
●  4th round: 4:15 PM

Sections D & E (all rounds G/30, d5)
●  1st round: 10:00 AM
●  2nd round: 11:15 AM

●  Closing ceremony for any section takes place after the last game finishes for that section.
NOTE: Half-point byes are acceptable for all rounds, limit 1. Must commit before the 1st round.

PLAYERS MAY NOT POSSESS CELL PHONES DURING THE TOURNAMENT. Any violators may be subject to disqualification and forfeiture.

Leander Summer 2024 Scholastic Tournament

This USCF rated event takes place on August 3, 2024 @ 1PM. Limited to 28 players! As of 7/30 we only have 1-3 spots left in the advance section (700-1400 rated) and 2 spots in the Intermediate Sections (400-700 rated).  Join us!

The tournament is held in the Library Annex, which is the building closer to the parking lot upon parking to your left.

Intermediate (400-700)

Rounds and Times
Advance Section Four Rounds at a time control of G/45;d5
All other Sections Five Rounds at a time control of G/25;d5
No check in required. Be seated at 1PM for announcements.
The five rounds aim to be at 1PM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM, and 5PM. Will start the next round as soon as the previous rounds finish. 
The four rounds aim to be 1PM, 2:30PM, 4PM, and 5:30PM
Registration Information
Tournament Registration Fee $20 – can take zelle, venmo, cash or check

Awards
Trophy for first place, medals for positive score, ribbon for everyone else, all to be picked up a few weeks after the tournament. 
All sections will be paired round robin. The Advance section will likely be split into two sections based on rating. Will cross section pair to avoid byes. 

What to Bring and Know
Please bring a clock and chess set if you have one! 
US Chess Membership is required. Please be responsible for your membership prior to the event to help the organizers and prevent delays.
Notation is required.  Notation sheets will be available if needed, but please bring a pencil or pen.
